A design brief was sent to the Senior Academy Schools in the Annandale, Dumfries and Nithsdale areas to encourage them to take part in a competition to develop a LOGO for the newly formed Annandale & Nithsdale Community Benefit Company (ANCBC).
This was an important and exciting opportunity for students wishing to study Art or Media as it gave them a live assignment and a piece of work they can put forward in College / University applications CV’s.
With the winning entry receiving a £200 cash prize, £100 for their school and other students receiving a £20 cash prize for being short listed.
The winning logo was to be used as the formal ‘face’ of ANCBC, on letter headings, application forms, website and posters etc.
There were 10 entries short listed and a final two chosen from the shortlist.
The winners were a group of 4 Students from Moffat Academy
They are: Imogen Paterson, Sonny Chaudhry, Everita Darkevica and Anna Beishuizen
They will share the £200 prize
There were 3 other students from Moffat who were short listed
Wallace Hall Academy were the runners up
Short listed students taking part from both academies will receive £20 each = 10
I think you will agree that it a great design
