Nine community groups and charities in Annandale & Nithsdale are celebrating success in the latest funding round from ANCBC.
Almost £85,000 was awarded this Autumn for a range of projects, from a £20,000 contribution to the costs of building a new sports pavilion in Moffat to £1,883 to contribute to the purchase of equipment to support the RH Youth Organisation in Lockerbie.
James Craig, Assistant Chief Executive, said “The RH Youth Organisation is extremely grateful for the grant that has been awarded by the ANCBC as this will allow us to purchase new activity equipment that will result in a wider variety of activities offered to the children and Young People of the local communities.
Due to the pandemic, we are currently only operating our Outdoor and Adventure Group but hope to be able to relaunch the Theatre Group in the near future. Once restrictions allow, we hope to be able to go camping/on outings with the Young People to offer more opportunities to our members. More information can be found at www.rhyouthorg.wixsite.com/rhyouthorganisation”.
Since launching in Spring 2015, the ANCBC fund has awarded over £1.5 million to approximately 150 projects across the 42 community council areas that make up the area of benefit. The next deadline for applications is Friday 4th December 2020. You can find out more and download an application form over on our main fund page www.ancbc.co.uk/main-fund/.
