Our Funding Impact – AGM 2019

As part of the 2019 AGM, several grant recipients gave presentations on their ANCBC-funded projects, talked to directors and members and offered information on the positive impact ANCBC funding has on their groups. Among the grant-funded attendees were:

Locharbriggs Village Hall
Kirkmahoe Community Council
KPT Development Trust
Castle Loch Lochmaben Community Trust
Include Us
Solway Sk8ing Club
South of Scotland Beekeepers Association
Spinal Injuries Scotland
Tinwald Parish Hall
Hartfell Hill Running Club
Thorthorwald Hall Association

Two groups, Include Us and South of Scotland Beekeepers Association, gave detailed talks on their work and what ANCBC funding enabled them to achieve. Got a minute? Watch what two grant recipients had to say – Solway Sk8ing Club and Include Us – and get a flavour of both ANCBC’s funding impact and the 2019 AGM.

Solway Sk8ing Club received a grant of £5,000 in November 2018 to contribute to competition costs for four teams to take part in the West & Wales Synchronised Skating Club Competition in Cardiff. 52 skaters aged 7-22 benefited from the contribution to transport, accommodation, kit, entry fees and catering costs. Three of the four teams took first place at the event, with one taking 2nd.

Include Us was granted £19,500 in October 2018 to contribute to the costs of employing a part-time development officer and project manager. The grant will be paid over two years, with the first installment paid in July 2019. Work has just begun on their inclusive playpark in the centre of Dumfries, on Catherine Street.
